Newgard Development Group, Menin Hospitality and Merrimac Ventures have launched sales for Gale Boutique Hotel & Residences, a 96-room hotel and adjacent 128-unit condominium at 2900 Riomar St. in Fort Lauderdale. The hotel will occupy a group of buildings that formerly housed the Escape Hotel, and a new 12-story condominium building will be constructed next door. “We’ve got some great hotels in Fort Lauderdale on the beach, but most are affiliated with the big brands,” says Dev Motwani, president of Merrimac Ventures in Fort Lauderdale. “The Gale offers a unique boutique hotel experience, which people want.”
The one, two and three-bedroom condominiums and townhouses will range from 780 to 2,000 square feet and are priced from $385,000 to $1.2 million. The units will feature gourmet kitchens, designer fixtures and cabinetry and spa-like bathrooms. Project amenities include multiple pools, a clubroom with catering kitchen and bar, rooftop deck, valet and concierge. Condo owners can also access the facilities and services of the Gale Hotel.
Motwani expects to break ground on the $120 million project in the third quarter of this year, with completion expected at the end of 2016. “The Gale is exactly what is needed in this market,” says Andy Weiser, a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker in Fort Lauderdale. “It’s the only new building that is not directly across the street from the beach, and therefore not asking beach prices, and it’s in one of the hottest redeveloped neighborhoods in Fort Lauderdale.”
