Mayor Jack Seiler and Vice Mayor Dean Trantalis, along with buyers and real estate professionals, were on hand to celebrate this significant milestone
FORT LAUDERDALE BEACH, Fla. – (August 19, 2006)– Newgard Development Group recently celebrated a significant milestone when it broke ground on Gale Residences Fort Lauderdale Beach, a 129-unit condominium community set to rise in the North Beach Village neighborhood of Fort Lauderdale Beach.
About 50 guests, including Fort Lauderdale Mayor Jack Seiler and Vice Mayor/Commissioner Dean Trantalis, attended a ceremony on Aug. 17 to mark the occasion. Mayor Seiler called Gale Residences “transformative.”
“Your approach to this project has been fabulous; the end project looks like it’s going to be just dynamite. I can’t wait to be over here,” Seiler told Newgard CEO Harvey Hernandez during the ceremony.
“We are creating a new benchmark for the neighborhood and for the area in general, and now we just have to build this and hope it meets everyone’s expectations,” said Hernandez.
Recently, the project received a $35.6 million construction loan, although site development and foundation work has been underway since April. To date, the building is 70 percent sold attracting a mix of domestic and international buyers.
Gale Residences is a 12-story building with one, two and three-bedroom residences that range from 800 to 2,100 square feet. Prices start in the low $500,000s, an excellent value for being so close to the Atlantic Ocean.
Located at 401 Bayshore Drive, Gale Residences is just a block from Fort Lauderdale Beach. For owners, it offers flexible living – an opportunity for them to live in their residences full time or rent them, either directly or through a special rental program provided by the adjacent Gale Hotel.
Newgard is developing Gale Residences in partnership with Dev Motwani’s Merrimac Ventures.
ONE Sotheby’s International Realty is handling sales. Architectural firm Garcia Stromberg designed the residential building, while Miami Beach design firm Urban Robot Associates is the project’s interior designer. The contractor is G.T. McDonald Construction.
Construction is expected to be completed in early 2018.
The Gale Sales Center is located at 2434 E. Las Olas Blvd. For sales information, log on to GaleFLL.com or call 954-888-2841.
